Why does NABPO want an Ally Program?
- To provide opportunities for those who wish to help support the organization; the ally program is an option that is *separate* from the purpose of the organization itself, to serve its organizers of color members
- Help generate resources (financial, business, volunteers) who can help the knowledge, experience, and success of the black professional organizer and productivity consultant community
- To expand the impact of a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion across the professional organizer and productivity consultant community
Who are potential Allies?
- NAPO members, ICD members, CHADD members, and other organizers and productivity consultants
- Business partners to NABPO members
- Any individual or organization that supports the advancement of People of Color in business
What are we asking of Allies?
- Financial support (for scholarships, speakers fees, defraying costs of any virtual or in-person workshops and conferences)
- Social media elevation of the organization and its members and their businesses
- Utilization of members in subcontracting work, thinking of NABPO members for referral activities
- Donate their time and expertise to the professional learning and/or businesses of the members
What are we offering Allies?
- Education about NABPO
- Insights into our individual members
- DEI trainings and resources
- Language they can use in their own marketing and communications
How are we communicating the role of Allies to our membership?
A founding member of NABPO, Tiffany Blassingame, serves as Ally Liaison to guide the program, orientation, answer questions from interested parties, etc. Contact Tiffany tiffany.blassingame@nabpo.org for questions.
How is NABPO communicating the program and marketing to generate interest?
- A communication / talking points / social media language for NABPO members to share/promote the program with their followers or their network
- Partner with other organizations or publications about the program
- Ongoing public acknowledgements of the progress of the program, number of allies, etc. (for broader social media awareness)
